What junk removal companies can't take (and where it goes instead)

There are a handful of things no junk removal company can legally haul. Here's the list, where each one actually goes, and everything else we take with no fuss.
A junk removal company can take almost anything non-hazardous, but not everything. Paint, propane, chemicals, and asbestos are off the list for legal and safety reasons, and they need a household hazardous waste depot instead. Everything else, from furniture to fridges to full basements, Junk Pros GTA takes for a flat rate.
What we can't take, and why
- Wet or liquid paint, solvents, and chemicals, hazardous waste, and they contaminate a load.
- Propane tanks and fuel, pressurized and flammable.
- Asbestos, requires licensed abatement, not junk removal. If you are gutting anything pre-1990, get materials tested before demolition.
- Medical or biohazard waste, ammunition, and explosives.
Most Ontario municipalities run free household hazardous waste drop-off days for exactly these items. If we find something on this list during a job, we set it aside and tell you where it can go rather than leaving you guessing.
What we do take
Furniture, mattresses, appliances (including fridges and freezers), electronics, renovation debris, yard waste, tires, scrap metal, hot tubs, and full basement, garage, estate, and office clear-outs. Fridges need certified refrigerant handling and electronics fall under Ontario e-waste rules, but both are handled inside the flat rate with no surcharge.
