No wrapping, no lifting
If you set a mattress out for city collection it has to be fully sealed in plastic, and only from a house. We skip all of that and take it from the room.
Where it goes
Mattresses are one of the more recyclable big items, steel, foam and fabric get separated where we can rather than going straight to landfill.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to wrap the mattress?
Not if we pick it up. Wrapping in plastic is only required for city curbside collection.
Do you take bed-bug mattresses?
Yes, but tell us in advance so it can be bagged before we enter the room.
Are Markham's waste rules the same as Toronto's?
No. Markham runs its own York Region collection with rules that differ from Toronto's, so check your Markham collection calendar.
